There’s Nowhere Else (Run To God) [Part 1]

For those who are striving to live right, but it feels like the whole world is against you:

I know it can be hard being the only one who’s trying to do the right thing… and I know that it can be very difficult to be the bigger/better person, all the time, too. I know it’s hard to watch those around you (esp your loved ones) travel down the wide road of destruction (Matthew 7:13-14) when you know there’s a better way… And you want more than anything for them to see that, too.

It gets stressful; you feel the pressure, it gets overwhelming and it feels like you have no where to turn or go to get away from all the frustration and negativity… It feels like you’re swimming against the tide, huh?

I bet it feels so much easier just to let go and fall off the right path; it feels so much easier to just go back to what you use to do because it’s all around you… And you really don’t want to do that… But the influences are all around you and the pressure is heavy; it’s hard on you.

I just want to encourage you; do not stop!

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9 (ESV)

I know it’s hard to influence others to change and even make changes (for the better) for yourself in such negative world… Especially when it feels like you’re the only one really trying and no one else seems to understand you or cares about what you’re trying to do.

You may feel alone, like there’s just no help for you as you long for relief… You may just want to get away no matter what. And that’s understandable… I can relate to longing for a way of escape.

Does it feel like you’re trapped in a prison (spiritually, mentally, emotionally)?

You’re in a place where you have go through it, put up with it and try your best not to respond harshly when the negativity comes your way… and it’s not easy at all. You wish you could just run away whenever you wanted… and you barely express yourself because you know what it may lead to; confusion.

Your peace of mind seems so hard or even impossible to maintain… that fire you once had burning inside of you to serve and the torch you had lit and held up for Christ – it all seems to be dying out.

Everything you once were, knew and did is conflicting with your true desire to get to know God and serve Him with your all… it’s all in front of you, coming back to you and you just can’t seem to shake it.

Where’s your relief from this struggle? Where do you go to get away from all of the chaos?

Truth is, there’s no where else to go but to God…

“The name of the Lord is a Strong Fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10 (NLT)

“His title (name) was the Word of God.” Revelation 19:13 (NLT)

Your relief is in Christ, the word of God… In Him is perfect peace. Remain in Him (The Word) and He’ll remain in you.

How do you remain in Him and keep striving against the odds?

It all starts with you… How willing are you to do and be better?

You’re going to have to encourage yourself in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6) and know that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).

If you draw close to God, He’ll draw close to you (James 4:8).

You have to make up your mind and convince yourself of what’s really important to you. You have to push past what you feel, what you see (because we live by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) and lean not into your own understanding.

“Trust in the Lord with ALL of your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 (NLT)

When you lean into your own understanding, you try to fight in your own strength and take matters in your own hands… and that’s the quickest way to screw something up.

Any time that you’re in a  situation that is bigger than you; you’re in over your head – that’s a clear sign that it’s not even your battle to fight. Trust the Lord to lift up a standard (fight for you) and get out of His way. Put it all in His hands and leave it there… you can’t handle it in your own strength.

And God’s put this on my heart for someone; STOP TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT!

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 (NLT)

You don’t know what He’s doing but He does… He has a perfect plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11). What you’re going through is not meant to break you down/harm you but to humble you/build you up and some of those around you.

Humble yourself! Let go and let God be God… that corner you feel like you’re in, it’s only God trying to get you to be still and trust that He has all things under control. Stay there.

“Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act.” Psalm 37:7 (NLT)

Wait on Him! In His perfect time, it will all come together.

To be continued…
